Hi All

Thanks for all the comments. I havent priced the job up yet but we have been discussing "beskpoke pens" and the guy saw me at a craft fair where he viewed some of my pens and the prices I charge so I don't think they are expccting to get them for the price you an get promotional give away pens off the internet. Having said that clearly I have to be aware of pricing.

Just as background I finish my full time job on Friday, whilst I haven't given it up to take up pen turning full time(I'm leaving for other reasons) - I know its a competitive business and at present I don't have enough sales for this - this job would be a nice starter for me.

Mike Dempsey has given me a price which I am happy with, my main concern is whether the letttering will turn out large enough and taking into consideration what has been said above how it will turn out in the chosen timbers. I have ordered some decal paper to have a go at this and see how it works out. I may also consider offering them presnetation boxes with their website engraves on these as an alternative.

To be fair they want to give the pens to architects who specify their products so they are looking at high end rather than cheap giveaways.

Would have been great to have just been asked for pens and let them sort the engraving, but trying to be helpful I offered to look into this for them.

Anyway thanks for all the info.

David
