I started to dismantle a Euro today, then quickly realised that the centre band was going to be a problem. Is there any way to remove the CB without causing damage? I have used CA to glue it on. I tried freezing the barrel then dipping the band in hot water to try and crack the CA, but no good.

If you don't need the blank then you could soak it in Acetone (nail polish remover) for about a minute. I don't know what if any damage it will do to the CB though.

If you can get to an open part of the tube you can use a pair of side cutters and cut the tube and then with a twisting motion you peel the tube off very much like they used to open cans years ago. Obviously you need to have spare tubes !!!!

if you are desparate to save a cb I have some spare gold plated ones I can send you if you want.

Otherwise as chas said, bee. Told coke is good as well, but never tried it myself.:nooidea:

If it caused me a problem it usually ended up in the bin.:goesred:

I had put a logo on the barrel using a decal and covering with ca. The pen was not required, so I thought I would turn the decal off and re-finish the barrel, so saving the pen, but it's looking like this will not be possible.

I had thought of this, but was afraid the acetone would attack the black line painted on the CB.

Thanks for the offer, but I think this is more trouble than it's worth. I might try the acetone on the off chance it works, failing that it's the bin
