When I cast my last set of blanks I mixed too much resin and didn't have a single mould to use it so I drilled a 13mm hole in two bits of hazel that was laying about, put some colour and glitter in the resin and filled the holes.

I drilled the hole a little off centre and while turning the wood stayed on one side as it would with an off centre hole so instead of turning it right off I decided to leave the pen a bit fatter to keep the wood.  Not as pretty as the proper hybrids by George Watkins but I'm quite pleased with the results.  Unfortunately the sparkle doesn't show up in the pictures.
