If you have transfer punches put the right size one for the hole in your blank into the Jacobs chuck and a faceplate with sandpaper on the headstock and you will get good ends.

Terry's system is better, but if you already have the punches and Jacobs chuck you will be able to try it tomorrow and then build Terry's.
