Yeah, same as David. The shape 's not my cup of tea. Very nice bit of wood.

So if you are given up I'll PM you my address for the spare wood under it... :funny::funny:

Over here fire stained in Eucalypt is common in one thunderstorm recently in Sydney there were hundreds of cloud to earth full strikes in half an hour, Eucalypts especially adapt following a fire but it affects the timber.

THeres gold in your hills mate left its mark also in that beaut colour along with the spalting. Neat Pen.

Peter.

Beautiful timber & lovely workmanship but as mentioned by others, the shape isn't to my taste

The one thing about our hobby is that we are all different in what we do, a shape of a pen can be our signature, something we need to try, something we have seen and want one the same, are to name a few. I like to see the imagination in a pen shape, and imagine if we all made the same style.. Good looking pen Angelo, that wood sure looks different on the pen than it does in the block ..

The blank was taken from the lower right front of the block.
I'll get some of the black line spalting on the next one.
Here's the pen how it really looks........without the red background.

Nice looking pen and much better without the red background.

Wood looks really nice and I think this style is different and it's growing on me..

On second visit I can begin to see something in that shape. Sort of like a stylised jouster's lance. It's growing on me! Turning and finishing is exquisite, and what a piece of wood!
