Featured burr elm

Got these elm blanks given to me very kindly from PaulM,thankyou Paul.

Anyway,I've had them a while and there was one blank that looked very tricky so after flooding with CA,I got to work...

Here are the results (it's pretty glossy,and the sun is shining)

Finished with friction polish and ren wax....

Elm is definitely my favourite wood

Can't go wrong with burr elm, they look gorgeous.

Nice one matty! Burr elm is indeed a beautiful timber, and your turning and finish do it great credit!!:thumbs::thumbs:

You've done a good job there Matty but as Brian says, it would be better on a plain background.

Thanks all,the finish on this one is the best i've done,I think it's because of the hardness of the wood,the higher grits that I had really didn't effect this at all,just burnished and glazed it which made a very nice base for the polish
