Like the last two pics very exciting really the slims proportion is needed the top half stronger in the Slims.Using calipers can help mating the tips and centres as well as the tops, I find measuring a little tricky next to the bushes. I still use a mandrel and saver.

Beautiful timber well turned on the Art Deco.

Nice bit of turning and a nice finish there are a few balance issues with the slimline pens and a few look to be a bit smaller than the fittings but these are issues that time and experience will sort for you the deco pen is a bit to fat in the middle and is forcing the clip to bend up but the finish on it is excellent

Damn good effort Adam, apart from the undercuts you have some nice shaped pens. Guarantee you that you will get better with this issue the more that you make .. :winking: I see nothing that we all haven't done .. :thumbs:

You are improving, but, as the others have said, shaping is a bit of an issue. Keep at it mate, you will get better.:thumbs:

Good efforts Adam :thumbs::thumbs:

The shape of pens is down to personal likes and i'm sure they will evolve over time to how ever you like them and of course your customer wishes :thinks::thinks:

This is a good start Adam. I love the art dèco pens I've made a couple of those. Now with regards to shape. It's a bit of a double edged sword. while I agree that they're your pens so turn them whatever shape you want, if you plan on selling at some point, you will find yourself having to make them a more conventional shape out of necessity. That's one thing I learnt, you have to make what people will buy, but NEVER loose your own style.
keep going fella, you're off to a cracking start :thumbs:

Nicely finished pens Adam, address the few issues highlighted & your pens will certainly improve as will your turning techniques the more you turn. Brody's right about making what the customer prefers. I make my slim lines with a flair at the nib & it has become my signature because the customers who try my pens like the feel & usually buy them. Some of the purists don't like them but I cater for the customer. Most customers like the shape but prefer a fatter pen or a slimmer pen than the one they are trying so I tell them to try others as I make my pens to a nominal size so they vary.
