Field Maple Burr and all its glory!

I recently picked up some field maple burr. I have never used it personally and thought it looked a tad rubbish. Well it has been sitting outside until I could get some replacement blades on the bandsaw and when I started I realised I had something rather special.

The translucent ones were produced with my mate Dave G Designs. He used off cuts from precious blanks to create shavings and thin strips that he incorporated to create a stunning looking blank.
I can honestly say that I just loved every moment working with this maple. Its colouring, spalting and overal look was just amazing. Will be turning these shortly.
