Hi all,
Rather than hijack a previous thread, it's made me think, so I would like your comments please....
Above is the selection I have for wood finishing, some good, some not so. We all must have a collection like this so I thought 'post a pic' good points/ bad points

My goto finish is Melamine, love the ease of application and the warmth left in the wood.
CA, yes but only if I have to.
Truoil, for a gunstock finish on secondhand oily walnut.
Peacock oil, still experimenting with this, works great as an undercoat and burnished well. Leaves a matt finish.
Polyvine is a wipe on poly that I use ala les Elm.

My collection is very similar TBH.

I dug some off the top shelf the other day when I was finishing the MP bowl. I was surprised as I nearly choked myself with the layer of dust on top of them. only to find them totally dried up so went in the bin.

Well they were my dads and he died in 2010 He was in a care home 3 years before that, and he had stopped turning at least 4 years before that due to Dementia.

Never used Melamine,I tend to one or two coats of CA and yes I have a cupboard full of different finishes used when needed.

When it cools down a bit I will have a look an see what I have.
