Right so I've just turned my first acrylic and used micro mesh pads all the way to 1200 with water, and boy does it look stunning. My question here is should I do my usual ca finish like I do with wood or just leave it as is? It looks amazing and I don't want to ruin it, it's my first time peeps!!!

Just leave as is. If you have a good shine without any scratches then it's finished. Maybe a light coat of microcrystalline wax to stop fingerprints.

If it is finished to the quality you like, then don't do anything more, it certainly doesn't need CA.

Nooooooooo... :nonono::nonono::
Don't use ca on it now, why ruin a perfect pen?

Just use a bit of Ren wax to help protect it prior to building it up.. If you haven't got any don't worry just wipe ya mitt prints off it when it's built up.

The only thing I might be tempted to do is run a quick coat of burnishing cream over the top. Not a requirement at all and my acrylics before I had the burnishing cream were fine. I just find that a quick rub brings a little bit extra to the pen.

Acrylic doesn't need CA to make it shine :rolling:
You've done a great job on that blank, either leave it as it is or give it a rub with some burnishing cream for a bit more shine :thumbs:

Never experienced said smell of plastic turning but plenty of the other over the years. Your finish would stand up anywhere now.
