Morning all,

Can you use a melamine lacquer over shellac sanding sealer, or does it have to go over a cellulose sanding sealer? As I understand it, shellac works as a base for most things, but the real advantage with shellac under a shellac friction polish is that it will bond together well. I guess this won't happen with melamine.

I know you can use it on its own too, but most places seem to recommend sealing the work first.

Thanks

Alan
