I want to have a go at turning a stabilised burr blank and would appreciate any advice on finishing. I would prefer not to use CA.
Thanks

Personally for me it depends on the stabalisation if its really deap and hard then I will just go down through the micro mesh grades dry then wax polish. If it's not filled all the pours then I just finish with melamine finish again after going through the micro mesh grades:thumbs::thumbs:

What Flexi said really. If the blank has been stabilised using a proprietary fluid in a vacuum chamber then baked in the oven, or by being drenched in a DIY wood hardening fluid and allowed to dry, and assuming that the turned and sanded surface is sound, the wood has effectively been plasticised, in which case if it were mine I would treat it like I would any other plastic blank.
