Great looking pen Ruth. Don't give up on Acrylics just yet.
Lots of good advice already given and I'm sure there must be a turner on here who doesn't live too far from you who can show you how to sharpen your tools and keep them sharp.
You will find acrylic a lot easier with sharp tools
