I haven't been on for a while but have jumped in at the deep end and decided to try my hand at casting, these are my first attempts , Made from Polyurethane resin (as couldn't stand the smell of the other stuff )this resin set in a beige colour on its own and was coloured with dyes. The little dots on some blanks are not bubbles but tiny flecks of glitter

Look very nice - it's certainly fun casting! I notice you used polyurethane resin. I've not used this before - how does it cut? Do you think it will take threads? I've used alumilite which I understand to be a urethane resin but it's a bit pricier than polyurethane resin...

it cuts like butter, I was a bit worried it was too soft but it seems very strong ,it sets very quickly too so I found it difficult to get everything done and into the pressure pot in time ,Am I wrong in thinking polyurethane resin and Alumilite are the same? just a generic name? Im sure they guys who have been casting for a long time will put me right

I posted a question about alumilite on IAP asking if it was the same as polyurethane but got a reply saying it was urethane...I think I'll give it a go though!
Cheers
