I made this more by luck than judgement. The scales I used when doing my first mix of resin last week were faulty and I ended up mixing too much to fill the moulds I had. I put some rose root into another mould, put some colour in the rest of the resin and poured it in without a clue how it would turn out.
When it had cured I thought that there wouldn't be enough colour to make it a nice pen and also the rose wasn't stabilised so I thought it would fall to bits. It nearly got chucked in the bin but with patience and soaking the wood in ca here is the result.

I now measure it by volume so probably won't have many more lucky strikes like this.

I like the mix of colours on there and it makes for a really good looking pen.

Wish I could make mistakes like that from time to time. Great looking pen Paul - you'll be doing it again with forethought pretty soon I guess.
