Perhaps because Mango trees grow to huge sizes and its a massive industry up north here in Australia the number of trees pruned etc it is a timber to be sourced that can be beautiful. Have always thought the fruit eaten when ripe requires care, there are a lot of varieties when the season is on in the summer we buy them by the flat containg up to fifteen pieces of the heavenly fruit.

I *LOVE* mango wood. It's 100x more beautiful when it is spalted. Also the cost goes up drastically.
