Paint the inside of the blank? OK back to being a newbie still..... how & why?

Paddy,
On some acrylics when drilled and glued in place you might get the tubes showing through once the pens have been turned down to size. Some like the look and some don't.
The easy way to prevent that is to drill the blank then paint inside the drilled hole with a suitable colour (Usually black for the dark blanks or a matching colour to the blank) I use a Q tip or something similar. cotton wool on the end of a BBQ bamboo cane works as well. once the paint has dried you can then glue in the tubes. Depending on the kit sometimes I may drill the hole a little larger to accommodate the paint but usually just try the tube in before painting to see how it feels.
I tend to use two part epoxy and then mix a very little bit of he same pain in to the glue just in case I have missed any of the inside of the tube, not had any issues by doing that and it still sets. but only put a vary small dab in to the mix, you only want it coloured. some use a pigment.
Hope that helps.
Oh, by the way, if it feels right for you then its right.
