Hope this comes across OK in the picture, bit of a rush job as a school near me was becoming an academy and didn't want to sign the articles with a BIC so asked if I could make a pen.

Any help in identifying the wood would be welcome.

Hi Mark, that's lovely wood and a great pen, the school should be pleased with that. I am useless at wood ID so can't help with that, I have seen wood that is similar, but my recall for names is lamentable.

I have a big block of it at home, maybe I could post a image of that.

Thanks for the comments, they were very pleased and the pen is now in a display case along with the signed documents

Nice pen Mark, my guess would be Tiger Oak at the wood but I don't no expert.

I just looked at google images for tiger oak and it does indeed look like that.
