Hi all
This is my first post but have been making pens for some time, for this pen I made my own blank from pencils and epoxy resin. No doubt if you have tried making pens with a pencil type blank you will know they are a challenge to turn in the lathe.

I think you achieved a great result. This kit is slim and hard to design around with a solid blank such as yours. Well done Chris.

Peter.

Hi all
Thank you for the comments and just a few words on making the blanks. I used a few boxes of new pencils and cleaned them with accetone, I then tightly packed them into my mould.
Next job was to de gass my crystal clear casting epoxy resin and pour it over the pencils (weighted down so they wont float in the resin.
Next was to leave them in my de gass chamber over night to cure then cut to a useable sizes on the table saw. I know most people use pressure pots with resin but I have allways used a vacuum chamber.
