(First "successful," because I have a box full of caps, barrels, sections, and other "less-than-successful" parts.) This one has an olive & black ebonite body and cap. Trim and section are plain black ebonite. I finished it with a Bock #5 and Beaufort reservoir and a silver pen clip from my box of miscellany.

Thanks to a bunch of you - too many to name - who responded to questions, gave advice, and were encouraging. Special thanks to Phil Dart. He has more time invested in this pen (answering email questions) than I do. Now...back to the shop. Number Two starts today!

Delighted to see you got it sorted Gregory. You'll be knocking four of those out a day before too long.:bwink:

Yeah...probably not! Actually my goal is make one pen that takes three weeks instead of spending three weeks to make one pen. Subtle difference, but anyone who really cares will get it.

(BTW, Phil - I made a pen before this that actually functions, but it was with the #6, and it wasn't what I want to make. The #5 is a beautiful and a delicate size. Your help with information and positive suggestions is why this particular forum is my favorite. Thanks for the effort to support all of us who are trying to "get is right," whatever "right" might be for each of us.)

Make pens so people will write again.

Thank you indeed for your kind words Greg. It was my pleasure to try to be of assistance, and your very last sentence also sums up a what is also a large part of my own raison d'etre.

Make pens so people will write again.

The other part of my raison d'etra is to do my bit through the forum and through my business to help people make GOOD pens, and that is the whole reason for the existence of Beaufort Ink.

I have no doubt that through your skills and your attitude and your website (which I think is great by the way - I've had a peek) you are well on the road to achieving your aims, and I wish you every success.
