The MIL has taken up lace making, so I thought I'd be nice and try some bobbins.

I have Dave Springetts book that Dad had, so used that for the measurements. Hopefully she'll like them, although I think a couple may be too thick but we'll see. Good fun to do but boy do you have to be careful, they snap as soon as look at them.

Apple, Pink Ivory, Hornbeam, Masur Birch.

They look good to me Phil, though I'm sure your MiL will soon let you know if they are not up to the job in hand :thinks::nonono:

Very nice indeed Phil. I'm sure your MIL will love them
I know a few ladies who do lace work, I might give it a go. Only thing that puts me off is they like matching pairs :thinks:

Yeah, Dad used to do them for Mum in pairs, I thought I'd try and find a shape and thickness that suits her and then try pairing them up. Enjoyed them but they are fiddly.

Sure look professional to me Phill size sometimes matters better heavier than too light depends on the timber as well.
