We have a great granddaughter here on occasions as we are look after her while her mum works. She wanted to make herself a pen a little surprised at the style she chose but I think it was the click lever idea that she liked most, she also rummaged through my pen blank draw and found this blank that she liked.
She is only 10 and took instruction very well and followed all the guidelines I set out she even wore all the safety wear and tied the hair back. A very enjoyable time was had by both.
For a first time using a lathe she did the turning very well with very little hands on by myself.

That is a superb effort. Heartiest congratulations to her. She'll never forget the sense of achievement she will have felt.

I have shown her mum the comments and she said that she will be over the moon with the replies here when she reads them after coming home from school.

Did I beat Derek last year?:scratch_head::ciggrin:

You Must be so proud of your Grand Daughter first she has done amazing job really nice pen. It's really nice to hear any offspring wanting to spend time with their Parents or Grand Parents and to be wanting to spend some time learning a hobby or a trade hat of to you my friend.

My son Made a pen just after Christmas. I have to admit the time spent with my son was priceless

Well done Derek and to your Great Grandaughter as well. I am trying to entice my grandson to take an intertest in turning but I think football is his first love. Again, well done and you now have a reminder of the the time you had making it together.

Cheers
Frederick
