I finished my first Virage pens today. The kits are Berea Hardwoods, that I bought from Exotic Blanks. I really like the design and profile. The long nib makes them very comfortable to write with.
I knew these blanks would be translucent, so I painted the tubes and colored the epoxy. You can still see the darker epoxy through the polished body, although it doesn't look too bad. I should have painted the inside of the blanks. Live and learn.
Like the whole concept especially the clip.I have found that fountain pen use is very pleasant because you can see where you are going easily so yes this feature of these pens being able to see more clearly is an asset. Love the blanks/pens.
Craft supplies did try them clips a very long time ago and I tried them but the wheel on the clip didnt last very long before it fell off so they weren't very popular in fact I think I still have one in my collection but that's not to say these are as bad as the old ones
Very nice pens Jim, i like the idea of colouring the epoxy, i wouldn't beat yourself up about seeing a tad of the tube, i think it looks good for sure ..
