Flood Waters?

Having had my workshop out of action for three months due to extensive flood damage, I have just turned my first pens since the room was repaired, re-plastered and redecorated. A previous customer came back to me with a request to produce a pen with a watery theme as a present for his wife's friend. At first I thought he was trying to pull my leg, but he explained that the intended recipient is a keen surfer and would like a pen that suggests surf breaking on a shore. I produced two pens so that he could choose between them. Both are rhodium Beaufort Mistral ballpoints. Have a look at the photos and see if you can decide which one he chose. The answer can be found at the bottom.
For the first one I used a blank called Blue Lagoon supplied by Turners Retreat.
