top pic is the glued blank turned to round design is only limited
by the number of cuts before turning but cut 2 blanks at once
always i find it makes the cut a better fit thoughts..

This is so easy you can put veneer in the design
but i would say if you do glue the shim in one side at a time
as i have had 1 or 2 fail on double glue ups so glue one side and press using the dry side in the vice to compress the glued up portion when dry repeat then turn....or return to the bandsaw for ....a more interesting blank?:wink:
