Plus 1 for Titebond......
As an apprentice we rub jointed some 4x1 with Titebond let it dry.....we put it in a vice and hit with a mallet, every time the wood broke....not the rub joint.....good glue

The problem with PVA glues are that they creep after a while Cascamite would be a better option. Someone said that if you use a PVA glue leave it for a week before turning to final shape helps

Titebond is over here as well and has a good rep I always go to higher turnover merchants to buy. Fresh is best.
