this is my worst nightmare
so many attempts to make on
so many bits of wood slung across workshop
hollowed to 100mm

ring not the best as just used parting tool at a deep angle

finished with many coats of acrylic laquer

not sure of timber...smells like canabis when turning

A nice little goblet you have got there practice is the key. And a great job on the ring not the easiest thing to do the first time of trying. I use old allan keys fitted into handles for my rings

Looks good Steve. I just finished a goblet for my son and his partner who are getting married. I cut 3 rings. One smaller than the other2 as they have 1 year old son
