Hi Everyone,

Great to be back :banana::banana::banana:
Had a couple of hours in the shed and turned this lovely bit of Olive - cheers 'Woody'.
Got close to finishing it and noticed a crack so out came the dreaded CA and Brass Powder, cleaned up the crack, filled it and finished off the pen..
Thoughts:thinks:

Sorry the blank cracked Rowdy!
Most of the stuff I took to the gathering was green.
Some people got some from the dry bag, but the bag I left with woody was freshly cut.

A very unscientific tip!

Cut your blank as normal, mark the centre, then insert an Awl. If a black ring appears around the hole immediately, it's probably still too wet.
Give it a week then put the Awl in the same hole, exerting a little more pressure. If no black ring appears, it's probably dry enough for turning.
