Gold plated Omega Fountain Pen

Couple of not sure in this thread .. First one is the wood used, i have had it quite a long time and never turned it as i hadn’t a clue what it was, last weekend i finally succumbed ..
Placed on a Gold Plated Omega fountain pen ..
The second is that i used Hut Crystal Coat as the finish .. It isn’t a bad finish but it hasn’t got as much gloss as i would have liked ..

I will persevere with the C/C as i said, the finish isn't to bad .. But i will be very selective with it ..

I gave you some black cabbage bark a while ago Jim. It looks very much like it.

Keith, it ain't that my friend, this and a few more blanks (which i have prepared also) were given to me when i bought my very first lathe .. :nooidea:

I really like the grain pattern Jim whatever the wood is very nice pen, it will be interesting to see what it looks like with a glossier finish.
