There are over 1200 species of Wattle, like most Acacias they can have incredible grain and colour, from bright orange and several others as in Blackwood a highly sought after member of the family in musical instruments.I have had hay fever since forever and even in the flush flowering times here in Canberra Golden Wattle has never even irritated me.I moved here with my family in 1941 as a boy, It is everywhere and is the Australian National Emblem since 1988.The Queen always likes the Golden Wattle colour for herself in hats and outfits it remains a firm favourite for her.It is quick growing with a life span of 10-20 yrs ie Golden Wattle. It heralds spring around here. This Wattle id difficult to dry without splitting.

10 minutes away the smoke spread over the city and surrounding suburbs, plus some other near fires the smoke pollution is high. We are still recovering from a one in a hundred yr hail storm recently.Hail was to golf ball sizes. All is well the drought is partly broken water is the lowest in many years.,36 C today again. Still we are cheerful and full of hope for thefuture.

I've read yours and Peter's learned pieces on golden wattle, as I too have never heard of it before. Great combination with the cigar kit though.
