Nice Job, that's a neat idea. I used to shoot crossbow years ago so I may make one of these, although I'll make it a more normal pen length. I'm not familiar with the kit so what keeps the refill in place? A link to the kit you used or instructions may help. I've got some arrow tube, fletchings and points and nocks.

Hi William....they are easier than you think....take a std slimline pen kit assemble the nib and refil guide on a bare brass tube...the second tube needs to be fixed in the shaft a distance in that is just further (2mm) than the assembly you have just made....make sure the glue is dry and the lower tube glue free...push together job done!!:banana:
Hope this helps.....if you have the knocks seperate you could go in the rear with the tube to avoid any glue in the lower section!

Very nice pen Mark at least you also managed to do it without cutting the brand name in half. Not surprised the customer was happy with it:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

I had a rummage through my old bits and pieces and knocked this up from an old bolt and a refill. I just needed to add a spacer rod and spring after drilling the original point. The refill was a perfect fit for Easton X7 1716 arrow tube.

Very nice there William.....is that a bolt? And how hard was the tip too?

Yes it's just a cut down bolt. The length we used to use for competitions was about 13 1/2". The point was easy to drill out as it was only brass. We used to use brass or mild steel in the early days but later on all the points were made of CNC turned then centreless ground stainless steel. Luckily I still have a few of the old brass points to fit 1716 X7 tube. These later points look a lot nicer but extend too far outside the tube to be used for a pen, at least with a standard refill.
