Hi all

Last week I had the opportunity to visit Bill who as it turned out lives near to me and had kindly responded to my earlier question as a newbie on how to finish pens...

I turned two wooden ones and an acrylic and here are the three that I finished following his methods and instruction...

The pics don't do the pens justice Kevin. It looks like you've got streamline centre bands on slimlines.
Streamline pens are fatter in the middle hence the bigger band & there are 2 sizes of bushes in the set.
A simple mistake which is easily rectified, swap the centre bands from a slimline kit, get some streamline bushes & make up your streamlines.:thumbs:

Nice finish you have there Kevin. The first pen rather suits the use of the streamline centre band as a design feature.

As Bill says so not to repeat it again. I tend not to use bushes but use callipers to measure the components when pen turning it does mean stopping and checking often but works for me. Even when I have bushes I still measure in case of any wear in them.
The finish is looking good and the more you do the easier it becomes.

Like them understand the centres however the pens that you also showed today reflect improvements ie the Olive and multi coloured ones. Bill you sure are a gem mate.
