This is my first time posting and am enjoying the questions and responses. I am a retired public middle school teacher. I have been turning (mostly on and off) since 2011. Recently my wife had a heart attack and she was attended by a first responder for a local township and then by EMTs from the nearby city of Virginia, MN. Their quick response and the work of doctors, physicians assistants, nurses and therapists have helped to restore her health. I decided to make pens as a thank you to these health care workers. I used Penn State Industries Firefighter Pen kits, Medical Kits and Caduceus Medical Pen clips for about 20 pens. I used a variety of local woods from apple, buckthorn, birch, maple, lilac, butternut, white oak, and yew. The people who received them really appreciated getting them, and we were thrilled to give them.

Welcome to the pen forum George. A very nice gesture on your part and I am sure they are very grateful for your gifts. Glad to hear the good lady is on the mend. My wishes to her as I know all about a heart attack, having three stents fitted myself.
