Hi all,
I recently gave a try to a new technique: leaf gilding (or should I sat gold leafing?). It is quite easy: applying some special oil called mixtion, then applying the thin metal leaf. I covered it with CA. I applied the leaves a bit at random, it was just a trial. Not totally happy with the results, but it is a first step in this interesting technique.
Has anyone tried it? C&C very welcome.

Here is some copper on katalox for a slim:

And this is real gold (:pounds: ) on bog oak, based on a Jr Gent:

I have done lots of gold leaf, but never on a pen. Your gold leaf pen looks great, you should be pleased with it:thumbs:

I really like the technique Pierre I personally prefer the gold effect, I think that is a technique that I will be trying.

Love the gold on the black Pierre. That is a fine looking creation, particularly with the closed ends you've given it at each end. Good choice to forego the clip too.

Pierre that is groundbreaking stuff. It reminds me of very exclusive Japanese laquer pens. You have been very quiet for a while now good to see your latest creations.

Thanks for sharing they are the best.

Peter.

Hi Ian, have you not tried the rubber tipped dabber things, they do not shrink the fingers but make it dead easy to hit the letters, some pound shops stock them.
