The transport mechanism got stuck, just could not save it. Drilled out the brass tube with a 6mm drill. Not sure if a another mechanism will fit or not. All day working on that body and I was quet pleased with it. It was a Beech and Iroko laminate out of the scrap box. Still, never mind; try again tomorrow.
Hope all are enjoying the bright sunshine.

Is that a slimline Frederick? PM me your address and I'll send you a replacement mechanism, but a bit better than the one you started out with.

All part of the fun! There is so much to learn, and even the pro's on here will share their mishaps/bad days - we all have them.

You should be able to save it though

Hello Derek
Wise words indeed. I think I am going to be lucky with this one though thanks to Phil. I managed to clear out the tube and will fit another transport mechanism later. Pleased really as I liked the body on this one.

Cheers

Hell all,
Well thanks to everyone and especially Phil who sent me a spare, I managed to save the pen. I am not too displeased with them. Not sure what caused the original problem though. Maybe I didn't clear out the tubes very well. I have enclosed a couple of pictures.
Thanks again.
Cheers,

Great job on the pens I think that we all have had problems and not only near the beginning of our pen making adventure.
