Thought I would share an old photo of a few surfboards and sailboards I made years ago. I have seen a few discussions on pen finish in the forum especially resins, CA etc. I have worked with different resins and finishes all of my life and seen many professional mess ups for sure. The boards in the photo are hand shaped from a piece of foam and then air-brushed before being laminated with two-pack epoxy or polyester resin. An extremely difficult process to accomplish as the glass and resin has to be crystal clear to be able to see the airbrushing underneath. The finish like all finish has its pros and cons like our pen finishes without a doubt!

A fantastic story and achievement using very difficult materials. They are an art of there own. I used a surf board once, never again, nearly broke my neck, should have a health warning on them!
Nevertheless, lovely made boards.

Never tried surfing
Way too fat to start now, the board would sink.

Thanks for sharing though
