I just love the Harrogate show, meeting up with old friends and new.

I'll be there on the Saturday. Anyone else going?

I’m meeting up with Jim and we’re going on the Saturday Neil. No doubt we’ll bump into yourself and Walter, Bill Mooney, Geordie and a few more of the crew. See you there.

All shows are beneficial and can be mighty uplifting. Today Wilma and I are Stewards at the Lapidary Society, then the Annual Working With Wood Show, both of worth and great interest for us. This year after many years the Wood Guild separated from the Wood Show as a venue for their Annual Exhibition. Times are tougher than ever in Pen Stuff generally. In our City of nearly half a million we have no pen product sales business the nearest is 200 miles away in Sydney.

I certainly will not they always seem to have these shows so far north and the cost of getting to a show wipes out any savings if any that can be made.

That's because this is the North of England woodworking and power tool show Derek!

There used to be a South of England one every year as well but it was cancelled due to rising costs and falling attendance. That should have helped the smaller shows but it appears not!

Every time I went to the south show it was packed so is it down to attendance or companies that run it being greedy one will never know as they would not admit it

I don't know mate, it was just what was said at the time! Did it stop when SK promotions became Nelton?
Odd that they started the smaller Midland show rather than reinstate the southern one:thinks:

I am sure that it was Nelton that ran the one down here as that is were I got my tickets from each year. I do miss that one just a shame that the one you are going to is to far and works out to expensive to get to which would leave very little for spending.

It would be good to have met most of your guys if I remember correct I have met Neil before maybe Neil Lawton can remember the event
