Hazel with a Mahogony Band

I used to find Hazel a bit boring but contrasting it with a mahogany band makes it look so much better.

That is the first pen made from Hazel that i have seen Paul .. You made a super job with it, and you will know how i like the center band made from wood rather than the supplied piece .. :winking:

Never used Hazel for a pen but have turned flowers from it ala Stuart King

I'm coming round to discarding centre bands as there are so many alternatives wood or plastic etc. plus when turned on the lathe a much better fit can be achieved

Thats a beaut Paul.
Have you tried using a copper penkit, with your centerband, I reckon that would rock:banana::banana::banana:

Always willing to give anything a go so I may just do Rowdy. After making this one I did go out and make another with a purple heart centre band and red fittings.
