My wife came across some videos on YouTube showing making things from recycled HDPE plastic, of course she see pens being made. Since then she was saving plastic with out me knowing what she was doing. Today I got my orders. Here’s the results

Very nice, tell her to ask the neighbours to save the blue and red tops as well. You can also use the white bottles and from memory others like domestos bottles.

Have made a red,white and blue blank this evening too. Think it might have needed more red but can’t tell untill I’ve turned it

Erm what do you do with the plastics? Melt them down? Stick them in acid or what? What is the process?

In Flexi's case he probably gives the kid called moose a fright to scare it out of him/her (have to be equal here). :fart:

Sorry I missed the questions on here, been a busy week at work.
The process I used for the plastic was to melt it using a sandwich toaster and folding the plastic a few times and re-melt. When I had enough melted I forced into a mould and allowed to cool. Make sure you allow to cool for as long as possible as the plastic can and will move until cold.

In regards to getting the tube to “stick” to the plastic, the simple answer is it doesn’t. You need to drill a slightly smaller hole than normal and go for an interference fit.
Hope that answers the questions. I am hoping to do more with this material when I’ve saved enough different colours.
