A bowl turner recently sent me a pile of his offcuts so I told him that I would make him a pen as a thank you.
He quickly informed me that he didnt like segmentation ( though he was probably talking about bowls )
Anyway here's his pen made with some of his cocobolo.

Swiming against the tide takes courage trust it is appreciated mate. Difficult from over here to see the virtue in your pen, like the design. I have a wonderful friend who photographs his pens using his mobile phone using daylight and acheives the best results with very dark timbers. I have a modicum of success with an open conduit frame,a light either side and a 10 watt daylight fluro on top, using an 11x14 sheet of copy paper curved at the bottom and back. I would love to show previous pics but my computer crashed and I lost years of pics.:goesred:

Very nice, great finish. I struggle on the darker woods more than the lighter ones to get a good finish for some strange reason.

Lovely pen

Yes - I know the feeling, when my last computer died, :sob: I was fortunate to have made a backup of about 70% of my work so some was saved. At least with analogue one has the negs & can reprint! :praying:
