Hello all my name is Martin and I am rather new to all this sawdust business :-)
I have recently gotten into woodturning and penturning in particular. I must have watched hundreds of hours of youtube vids on penturning and read so many articles on-line but every time I looked for help with particular things, like which type of paper towel to use for applying CA finish, all of the answers were from the other side of the pond.
But now I have found a UK based penturning forum! I think I will be spending the next several days looking through all the posts here, if I haven't resurfaced by the weekend could some kind soul send in a search & rescue team please? ;-)

There's a wealth of knowledge and experience amongst the members here, so if you want to know something, just ask away. Everyone here had to start somewhere, so don't think your questions might be foolish or trivial.

Like you I am new to all this too and this is a great place to find out info..and also receive constructive comments on what you might produce without being made to look daft.. be brave... I have posted some right stupid things but you learn from it...

PS they are not all from the uk but all are willing to offer help...:banana:

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. I've only been here a couple of days and have already discovered melamine lacquer as an alternative (and way less mucking about) to CA as a finish. Axminster will be getting hit up momentarily :thumbs:
