Hi All

Ive just joined as this forum was recommended by a friend.

Im new to woodwork and especially turning but would like to try turning pens.

I have purchased a pen mandril aswell as a couple of pen kits from Axminster aswell as a jacob style chuck so I think im ready to start. I was advised to get a dvd by paul loseby but im having a few issues with that so that hasnt arrived but am looking forward to starting.

anyway my name is Colin and im from Portland in Dorset and will probably be asking for lots of help and advice :)

thanks

Colin

Hi Colin I see you got here. Have a good look around and ask away. Don't mind some on here they are alright once they have had their medication as most are mad.

Welcome Colin. You should be able to find the answers on here. YouTube is a useful resource but if you are someone who prefers to learn from a book I can recommend Walter Hall's book on pen turning. Worth checking your local library if you don't feel like splashing out. I found it really useful when I started making pens.
