Just popping in to say hi from Ireland. Been turning for a good few years, began in '93. Been away from it for a few years and have taken up the chisels again a few months ago. Things have changed a lots in a few years! Turned my 1st pen around '97/'98 but haven't turned many over the years.

Ive some offcuts from some recent projects, 30x30 roughly, spalted beech, elm and oak. Decided to try my hand at some pens (some pen kits ordered last night). I'd also like to try some acrylic blank, but looking up the prices are a little high I think? Might try my hand at casting some of my own, seems to be a lot cheaper, though I'll need to locate a resin supplier here in Ireland.

Hi and welcome Mick there is one across the border in Belfast that I have used had some great service from them. I would start with Polyester resin and then move on from there
