Hi all,

I'm Spencer and I live in sunny Eastbourne (originally a south east London boy).

I was a lurker here for a long time but life was a bit hectic to really get involved.

I've been a part time pen maker for a few years. Took a bit of a detour from that to do other things but now back with a passion for it.

Trawling through some of the show and tell posts have made me feel a bit of an amateur in comparison!

I do some epoxy casting as well as some 3D printing of blanks for filling with resin.

I'll have some pics up for comment / ctriticism shortly. Be kind! :)

Take care all.

S.

I know its 7 years late, but welcome for coming out the closet.

You are halfway there to admitting you have an addiction, there is always some one on here to help and talk too. From Oz, to the USA and Europe. So no matter what time your addiction kicks in please post and you will be heard......:winking:

Thanks for the welcome Eamonn :)

7 years indeed. I signed up when I first started wood turning and took an interest in pen making. There were a lot of really bad slimlines made (by me) back then. It's been on and off since.
Hopefully now I'm a little more worthy!

And as for admitting my addiction... Already on that. But it seems my addiction is for making pen blanks. I have about 300 of the things in my workshop and nowhere near enough pen kits, nor time, to use them all up! OOOPS.

Thanks for the welcome Mark.

I know ALL about the love for pictures here. I've already put a couple up and there will be plenty more to come.

you have been here longer than I have :funny:
Only on paper mate! (there's a pen pun in there I reckon!)

As mentioned elsewhere I joined the forum back when I first took an interest in woodturning and instantly pen turning was a natural fit for me.

Back then my lathe was a Myford ML8 that was about as old as my dad (late 1940s). It was not good for making pens.

I've been through a few lathes since and now have one where the head and tailstock meet accurately so pens are possible :love_it:
