Dan,

If you get a few kits from the same batch and feel the ends of the tube by rotating the tube in the fingers of one hand and feeling the end of the tube with the fingers of the other, is it perfectly round. Let's face it the tubes are a set dim, the mechanism can be proved with a calliper and is probably the same as the ones produced in there millions and is unlikely to be defective. The tubes are clamped in three jaw chucks and sliced, there was a recent problem with one supplier who had the pressure set up incorrectly and the ends of the tubes had become ever so slightly triangular.
