I thought I would try to make a tube-in type mould with the silicone plugs, as I have not seen this done yet. I used the silicone/soapy water method and it turned out ok, I would say. I made the plugs too!

Don't matter what you cast it around you're still gonna have a blank with a round bottom and a flat top init?

Only for a minute Brian - spin, cut and now it's round ! . I find it useful to cast like this as I only use vacuum and if there was a bubble I could get it out by turning the tube. I also had a flat tyre once but only at the bottom i'll get my coat

A few pics of the first pen from the new mould, also my first try at label casting.

I'm not totally happy with the quality of the picture. I will have to try and find a photo quality paper that is not too thick.

Yesterday pestering my Jeweler mate while I picked him up to get him to a foot specialist i showed him a watch pen double cast two different sizes the cast is conjoined and bears the details on the side which kit it was made for all this in absolute clear. My mate wilol dissemble some old watches for me. He gave me his jewellers incomplete until he finds the rest lathe.
