Hi All,

Recently forum member Lons (Bob) gave me a link to some thread that he uses for fly fishing.
I got some and wrapped it around a 7mm tube. Here are the results.
Cheers Bob for the link. I will definitely try out some of the brighter colours.

Great videos Paul, the blank turned out very well. Those threads will catch more fisherman than fish! There are a multitude of materials used in flytying, I've got more embroidery threads than my missus and more nail varnish than my daughter  There are some nice materials used for lure tails that is holographic and in several colours which might be interesting though harder to handle than thread, look for "flashabou" or similar.

I'm definitely going to have a go as was also inspired by the fishing flies blank posted by Les recently.

i can make up the moulds easily enough as I have offcuts for my days in plastics and have been watching some resin on ebay,( WATER CLEAR CASTING RESIN 1kg / LITRE KIT CUPS GLOVES for jewellery etc | eBay ) just haven't pressed the button as need to read through all the posts on the subject on the forum. Don't want to buy large quantity in case I don't get on with the stuff and I know Walter buys from a local source so would need to check out prics.

What's been putting me off is the thought of having to set up a pressure pot system.

Love this video Paul, and like others have said, your continual experimentation and sharing is brilliant. :thanxs:
