Hi folks I've been missing for a bit due to four bereavements.
When away from the lathe I went back to carving and stick dressing as it can be done anywhere and came up with these two specimens.

Both in spalted Beech

Great work Peter. Love them.

Sorry to hear about your problems, sad times.
You put me to shame, I've got lots of semi finished carvings, horses head among them, a part finished crook and materials to make stick including a nice rams horn, antler and black buffalo horn, been on my to do list for donkeys years. :goesred:

Sorry to hear about the bereavements. At least you have managed to find a quite moment if only to produce two fine pieces. Seeing the dog walking stick reminds me that I must finish carving my gargoyle one sometime.
