Hi,
I made my first bullet pen today :-)

Although I polished with Brasso, I am sure it will eventually tarnish/discolour :-(

Is it possible/worthwhile applying a finish that keeps the shine?

I read about 'Everbrite' but it is American and is it suitable?

Advice please would be great :-)

TIA

Products made for this purpose, used for medals etc, check out museums and restorers. Most brass work handles etc use a clear coat of laquer, all marine stuff the same. I was given an at the time 60 yrs old hanging lamp before electricity, extensive brass, I polished ,cleaned and sprayed, converted it to electrical lighting it still gleams shiny and clean. I took one to a local powder coating firm it turned out great.

Ok, many thanks, will try first the spray (as I have some) :-)

Les, what is your 'dipping method' ? :-)

Maybe try wipe on poly (or having just read, you can make your own by thinning out clear polyurethane varnish)
