Well i will tell you what happened then you can finish off the title yourself ...

I turned the two segmented pens yesterday, the ones that i posted the other day (Here) .. This morning i put a CA finish on them, all looking good as i have to have them ready for tomorrow ... :phew: Well teatime i polished them up ready to put them together ... Built the clip end no problems, came to do the Bloodwood bottom barrel and was looking good as i placed the end tip in first .. Them "Shit" the nib end had somehow left a smudge as though CA had been pushed together (Horror set in) there is no way i could send this pen out like this the only thing was to leave it there while i built up the Blackwood pen then i would go and scrape all the CA off and start again .. Would you believe it this did exactly the same .. :sob::sob::sob:

Now it is panic time as the time is running out .. So i will be back out in a few minutes back at it ...

This has never happened before, and as always i clean off the edges before building up a pen .. I wonder if i somehow lifted the CA when using the reamer to clean the blanks before putting it together ...

Bad day indeed ...

Jim,

You reminded me of a situation in a former life I was a Tech with Civil Aviation at Canberra Airport in the 60,s occasionally would have to go interstate on loan. Arriving home around 6pm after exhausting work and one such journey SWMBO said have you had your dinner? Well in my family home growing up meals were called breakfast dinner and tea so I replied in all innocence yes cause I had eaten my midday meal, about 9pm I moaned a bit wheres something to eat?

A new rule we follow since then meals are breakfast lunch and dinner. Your references to tea time kicked in.

Kind regards Peter.

Up norf it's breakfast, dinner and tea, it took me a long time to get used to not avin chips with every meal, although I drew the line at porridge and chips. It took me even longer to get used to breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Up norf we used to dress for Tea wiv our flat caps and ferrets up the trouser leg, darn sarf we all dress with tie and collar for Dinner unless it's special then the old cumberbund and dickie comes out, god I miss me old ferret.:fart:

Just to add, they are now finished ... Phew!!! I will take pics in the morning before i drop them off to the guy ... This is the main reason i like to make pens where people can choose which they want rather than make them to order ...
